The Orchid Wax version of the Bayliss XL is an alternative to the standard Bayliss XL
for specialist applications where a higher opening temperature is required.
The standard Bayliss XL enables the window to be set to start opening between around 12°C (55°F) and 75°F (24°C).
The Bayliss XL Orchid Wax version can be set to start opening the window at between 75°F and 90°F.
The Orchid Wax versions of Bayliss vent openers are designed to keep greenhouses warmer than usual for the botanist / horticulturalis growing exotic plants such as orchids, cacti, tropical fruit etc.

Suitable for opening hinged vents up to around 2ft square (600mm) of normal construction.
Please look carefully at the third photograph as this clearly shows the standard type of greenhouse vent and slam bar that these autovents are designed to fit. If you have one of the "trapped polycarbonate" type of greenhouse which are currently being sold on the internet there is nothing for the clamps to fit onto and these units will not be suitable for you without modification to your greenhouse, we have known people drill through the panels and frames of their poly greenhouses to fit these units where the clamps have not fitted as standard.
