These gloves have been made to order and imported directly from the source: The Cleto Reyes Factory in Mexico
(Yes, we actually had our contacts in Mexico go to the actual Cleto Reyes factory and place an order for these gloves - they were all hand made to order (meaning as soon as the order was placed, they were all built by hand))
Among the top brands in the boxing game, the Cleto Reyes brand has been sported in-ring by some of the best boxers in the game.
We've tried and tested the Cleto Reyes Extra Padding Training gloves and here is our take on the features of the gloves*:
High-quality, luxurious feel to the gloves upon opening the packaging - the gloves have a fresh & prominent leather scent to them that will last for months, even among the smelliest of gym bags
Excellent craftsmanship - the quality of the stitch work is excellent as the stitching doesn't wear out for quite some time
Don't expect the gloves to blow out like basic - gloves - even through the hardest training sessions, these gloves will hold up for a long time and maintain their quality
Throwing hard hooks or uppercuts with these gloves feel like butter
The gloves feel great on day one - more than likely wont need to worry about breaking in the gloves
We used the Cleto Reyes Extra Padding Training Gloves for Boxing, Kickboxing & Muay Thai Training & Sparring and they are overall an excellent option for training in any of these martial arts
Really like the fact a fully closed fist is not required to throw a punch in these (really depends on striking style)
Some things you may experience with using these gloves*:
Decal/branding on the gloves do not hold up super long. Expect the printed decal to start wearing off after 2.5 months of hard training
For Muay Thai Training - clinching requires a little more effort in your grip vs standard Thai gloves
Wrist support is good, but not as good as the
Cleto Reyes Hook & Loop Closure Training Gloves
May need a little more effort to slip on if you're using hand wraps (which we highly recommend you do)
